FOODSPORT's 10th Anniversary- Partners Celebration
Extending FOODSPORT's Spirit of 10 years, Connecting Enterprises with the Public to Transform Exercise into Food
HONG KONG, June 26, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Since its establishment in 2013, FOODSPORT has been aiming to combine exercise and food for ten years. While encouraging the public to get more active, they also collect food for people in need to solve health problems and end hunger, aiming to build a sustainable, healthy society.
Since 2013, more than 100,000 people have participated in the activities organized by FOODSPORT and has accumulated a total calorie donation amounting to 58,413,422 kcal (approximately 300,000 bowls of rice). The collected calories will be converted into food of the same value for those in need. In the past ten years, FOODSPORT's donation network has grown from Hong Kong to 25 different countries and regions around the world, benefiting more than 150,000 citizens.
To show appreciation to their partners' generous support throughout the years, the ceremony "FOODSPORT 10th Anniversary - Partners Celebration" is held today. Notable guests include Dr. TSE Ka Kui, founder of Dialogue in the Dark (Hong Kong), "Bamboo Generations" and "Education for Good",Mr. Wong Tsz Mang, founder of FOODSPORT, and Hong Kong's top distance runner Mr. CHAN Ka Ho. The guests revisit significant milestones in the past 10 years together and officiate the launching ceremony for "FOODSPORT Foundation Limited".
Dr. TSE Ka Kui, founder of Dialogue in the Dark (Hong Kong), "Bamboo Generations" and "Education for Good", noted how he understands the difficulties of running a social enterprise. In his speech, he congratulated FOODSPORT on its 10th anniversary and said: "In the process of establishing and operating a social enterprise, experiencing challenges and setbacks is inevitable. Meanwhile, one must rely on their strong will and focus on their dream- to solve social problems in our society. With this in mind, the team can work together to overcome difficulties, surpass themselves and achieve their goals."
At the event, the guests enjoy the clip "Ten-Year Milestones" while revisiting meaningful highlights and the hard work of FOODSPORT in the past 10 years. Following the video, Mr. WONG Tsz Mang, the founder of FOODSPORT, thanks all partners for their support on stage and shares the foundation's prospects and goals. He noted, "To celebrate FOODSPORT's 10th anniversary, we will hold a series of activities, including the 'Burnathon 6000 Challenge' launching in July and the annual large-scale running event 'Hunger Run', returning in October with a new theme- Cha Chaan Teng. The coming events promise the public an unforgettable running experience and encourages everyone to donate calories by doing sports." In addition to public activities, FOODSPORT also connected enterprises and organizations to launch a program to commend healthy habits, encouraging Hong Kong enterprises and organizations to motivate employees and their families to take "150 minutes" of exercise every week to promote employees' physical and mental health, improve work morale and efficiency.

After the speech, the guests officiate the launching ceremony for the establishment of "FOODSPORT Foundation Limited" to signify their continued efforts in promoting the concept of 'donating calories' and using exercise to raise public attention to charity events. The calories consumed will be transformed into food for people in need.
Closing the ceremony, they invite social welfare and business partners who have always supported FOODSPORT to come on stage and interact with Mr. WONG Tsz Mang, including Mr. Calvin Lee, General Manager of Nan Fung Property Management and Mr. Sam Lam, HR Officer from ASMPT Limited, to share the wonderful moments they have experienced with FOODSPORT in the past ten years.
