"KLWC is purposefully designed with a vision of a 360-degree wellness hub centred around its township, encompassing all aspects of medical care, health, wellness, fitness, and business, complete with residential, retail, and commercial offerings," said KL Wellness City Managing Director, Dato' Dr Colin Lee.

At a gross development value (GDV) of RM11 billion and spanning over 26.49 acres, the development features an ecosystem primed for world-class medical and wellness living at its core – The Nobel Healthcare Park, the KL International Hospital (KLIH), innovation laboratories, clinical R&D facilities, office towers, retirement resorts, Healthcare Hub, wellness-centric serviced apartments, a Central Park, and more. In Phase 1 of KLWC, the construction of the KLIH and The Nobel Healthcare Park is in full swing and targeted for opening in year 2026.

A pioneer in Southeast Asia, KLWC will play a key role in bolstering Malaysia's position and track record as the top destination for medical travel and the ultimate one-stop oasis for healthy living for domestic and international travellers.

"The KLWC's master plan incorporates thousands of facilities and residences in its township to embrace the ageing nation with high-quality facilities and healthcare services such as elderly care, retirement resorts, as well as independent and assisted living." Dato' Dr Lee added.

KLWC is open for collaborations with regional and international partners to jointly develop this healthcare and wellness city.

The flagship KL International hospital (KLIH), is the first in Southeast Asia to offer a fully holistic and integrated ecosystem of healthcare services including wellness and fitness facilities across diverse areas in medicine, with R&D laboratories and facilities for clinical studies.

Approved as a tertiary hospital with 624 beds, scalable to 1,000-bed capacity, the KLIH is poised to be on par with renowned institutions like Thailand's Bumrungrad International Hospital, and Mount Elizabeth Novena in Singapore.

With support from many main government agencies in Malaysia, the KLIH within KLWC will be developed with an initial investment of RM860 million, creating over 3,000 job opportunities for the industry. Apart from KLIH, several other medical institutions are in KLWC's pipeline to be developed progressively.

"KLWC's commitment to raising the bar for health and wellness through living resonates with the Ministry of Health's whole-of-system approach. We have faith that the hospital will attract multidisciplinary leading specialists to practice in a single hospital location, shortening turnaround time for both local and foreign patients, optimising patient care and experience.

We applaud the efforts of KLWC to maintain our leading position in this region and globally. We will continue to endorse and support KLWC and the KLIH's commitment," said YB Dr Zaliha Mustafa, Minister of Health Malaysia.
