SINGAPORE, April 3, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- In early March 2023, Vestas held the first annual meeting of Vestas Japan Certified Service Providers (VJCSP).

Vestas Japan Certified Service Providers 1st Annual Meeting

Vestas Japan VJCSP meeting

Vestas Japan has service technicians stationed at 12 site offices nationwide and provides operation and maintenance (O&M) services for a total of 461 MW wind turbines. Currently, new projects under construction amount to 632MW, for many of which we will provide O&M services for up to 20 years, upon commencement of commercial operation. If we look at the situation of existing wind farms in Japan, the number of wind turbines that have been installed for more than 10 years is increasing, and the necessity of maintenance is also expected to increase.

In line with the expansion of the service business, Vestas has been expanding our service team and developing our technicians, and at the same time, has established the Vestas Japan Certified Service Providers System, under which we have started collaboration with external service providers that ensure the same level of service quality as Vestas. Vestas Japan Certified Service Providers shall meet the criteria required for our service business partners and will provide maintenance services for wind turbines while guaranteeing the same service quality as Vestas.

The three companies registered as Vestas Japan Certified Service Providers, Tokyo Power Technology Ltd. (Koto-ku, Tokyo), JRE Operations Corporation (Minato-ku, Tokyo), and Moriyama Diesel Co., Ltd. (Aomori-shi, Aomori Prefecture), participated in the first VJCSP annual meeting, and discussed the projected growth of the wind turbine maintenance market in the future, how they will collaborate with Vestas service team, and service technician's required skill levels and training plans.

Vestas' service business is built on a strong, global foundation, combining operational data from more than 49,000 monitored turbines with technical experience from over 10,000 service technicians and a supply chain of more than 1,200 suppliers worldwide. This enables Vestas to provide services that minimise O&M costs and cater for local needs. Vestas will continue to respond to the increasing demand for O&M services in Japan and contribute to the efficient operation of customers' wind farms by building an effective service provision system through collaboration with our partners.
