More than just a School - PSB Academy receives Silver Ribbon Mental Health Awards for Schools 2022, 3rd consecutive year running

---

SINGAPORE, Dec. 15, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- For the 3rd consecutive year running, PSB Academy (PSBA) is the only Private Education Institution to receive the prestigious Silver Ribbon Mental Health Awards for Schools 2022. Building on a culture where people matter, mental wellness has always been key to the institution, which believes in a proactive approach in ensuring the availability and accessibility of the support and resources needed in providing a safe space for its people to thrive.

Mental Health Matters

From embracing the new norm and changes from the pandemic, to having to cope with the rising rate of inflation, it is no surprise that the number of youths reportedly struggling with mental health issues is on the rise. Stress and anxiety caused by the uncertainties and volatility in their years transitioning into adulthood may have been the main contributor to worsening mental health amongst our younger generation. At the recent Silver Ribbon Mental Wellness Award 2022 ceremony that was held virtually on the 6th of December, Guest-of-Honour, Dr Maliki Osman, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister for Education & Foreign Affairs emphasized that mental health is a society-wide issue, which will require a whole-of-society effort to resolve.

Amongst the 13 recipients recognised by Silver Ribbon for their efforts and commitment to the mental well-being of their students, PSB Academy (PSBA) is the only Private Education Institution that had been honoured with this recognition for the 3rd consecutive year running. Priding itself as Asia's Future Academy, mental health has always been PSBA's key focus in ensuring the holistic well-being of our community - be it employees, students, or other stakeholders.

More than a school

Receiving the award on behalf of PSB Academy, Senior Vice President of Operations, Vincent Chong, also presented the holistic effort and mental wellness framework at PSBA, which has transformed towards a proactive management approach through the array of mental health support and activities aimed to empower students with greater self-awareness and ensuring that students always have a channel to reach out, strengthening PSBA as a conducive and safe space for anyone and everyone to be themselves.
