The series of awards that GT Man has received throughout 2022 has made it an unwavering brand that dominates the domestic market. GT Man implemented various strategies to maintain its reign, ranging from product innovations to CSR programs impacting Indonesian MSMEs.
JAKARTA, Indonesia, Dec. 5, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- GT Man, an Indonesian men's underwear brand of PT Ricky Putra Globalindo (RPG) (IDX: RICY), managed to add another two prestigious awards to their list recently, namely: Superbrands Indonesia's Award 2022 and Indonesia Original Brand (IOB) Award 2022. Winning these two awards has further strengthened GT Man's position as a leading local brand in the domestic market. "Thank you to all organizers who have granted us these awards. We would also like to express our gratitude and appreciation to all our loyal customers, as without their loyalty, we would not have reached this position. Also, we are grateful for the entire team's hard work to serve the customers and keep producing innovative products for society. It is an honor to receive these awards, as this will serve as a motivation for us to keep making a great, sustainable impact on customers, suppliers, as well as society," said Charlie Nawawi, Marketing Director RPG.
Superbrands Indonesia's Award 2022 awarded GT Man with a "Loyalty Award" for successfully maintaining their achievement and being a member of Superbrands for a decade in a row. On top of that, GT Man was also awarded a "Certificate of Loyalty" for the brand's extraordinary loyalty for more than 19 years. The awards given by Superbrands Indonesia were based on the results of a survey conducted by Nielsen Consumer Research in Greater Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Semarang, Medan, and Makassar. To win this award, a brand must excel on five assessment indicators: market dominance, longevity, goodwill, customer loyalty, and overall market acceptance. The two Superbrand Awards won by RPG demonstrate the Company's ability to build GT Man's strong brand image, brand value, brand awareness, and brand loyalty in customers' minds.
"IOB Award 2022" from SWA Magazine and Business Digest, a research institute of the SWA Group, has also been added to the growing list of achievements secured by RPG through GT Man. GT Man is considered as one of 109 local brands that outperform foreign brands within the domestic market. The 2022 IOB Award acknowledges local brands' exceptional performance based on research conducted in July-August on 5,000 respondents across Medan, Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, and Makassar. Using a multistage random sampling method, the research engaged men and women that fall under the SES category of A to C, within the age of 21-40 years old, and hold a minimum of high school education.
In their third year of winning this award, GT Man ranked first position in the Men's Underwear category with a "Very Good" score across four parameters: customer satisfaction and loyalty to the brand, advocacy (customers' willingness to recommend the brand), and competitiveness against other brands.
These two recently granted awards affirm GT Man's accomplishment in raising its product standards to an international level and outperforming several well-known foreign brands in the Indonesian market. In achieving this, GT Man has been strategically expanding and strengthening the company's distribution network both domestically and abroad, cooperating with various marketplaces, actively promoting on multiple platforms to reach different target audiences, and continuing innovating products centered on various consumer demands and trends.
One of the product breakthroughs made by GT Man was to create clothing using high-tech seamless machines imported from Italy. That technology can reduce the production process by up to 50 percent, producing garments that are 15 percent lighter. "Not only does it produce comfortable and good-for-health clothing, but the seamless technology also contributes to a more environmentally sustainable production process than the conventional one," said Nawawi.
These various strategies have been implemented by RPG to remain empowered in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic and the threat of a global recession which predicts a decline in people's purchasing power. The strategies are successful as GT Man has managed to hold 40 percent of the national underwear market share, putting RPG as the largest Company in the industry with positive progress on track.
"Even though the world's economy is predicted to experience a recession, we believe Indonesia's economic growth will still be facing a positive trend. This is due to the strong influence of domestic consumption in society instead of exports," added Nawawi.
GT Man is part of the textile and clothing industry, contributing 6.56% to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the non-oil and gas processing industry in Q2 of 2022. Statistics Indonesia (BPS) reported that GDP at constant prices (ADHK) in the textile and clothing industry reached IDR 35.17 trillion in Q2 of 2022, which was a 13.74% increase from the same period last year of IDR 30.92 trillion.
To support the growth of entrepreneurship and economic revival in Indonesia, GT Man is also actively engaged in creating impactful CSR programs through workshops, training, and funding allocations for SMEs partners. These initiatives seek to increase employment opportunities and contribute to the development of SMEs in Indonesia.
